Lumen Christi Tops the Academic League Tables in Northern Ireland Again!
This month the Sunday Times published their Parent Power academic league tables for schools across the UK. Schools are measured on the number of A*-B grades at A-Level and A*-A grades at GCSE and, once again, Lumen Christi has attained the top spot among schools in Northern Ireland for performance at A-Level and GCSE. It is a fantastic result and I would like to take the opportunity to thank parents for their consistent support in helping our pupils maintain the high level of home study required to achieve such excellent grades. This is the eleventh year in succession in which the college has topped the league table for schools in Northern Ireland and is a testament to the excellent teaching, hard work and pastoral support that our staff provide for the pupils in their care. Congratulations to all concerned – and, above all, to the students themselves.
Operation Christmas Child Project
Lumen Christi College managed to collect 285 shoe boxes for the Operation Christmas Child Project driven by Samaritans Purse. A huge thank you to all students and parents who contributed.
Free School Meal Allowance
Dear Parents
Our policy on Free School Meals has been updated in line with DENI Guidelines. The arrangements are:
Morning Break:
The morning Break is not included in the allowance and all items taken must be paid for via the students account
Lunch:
- There is a daily limit of £2.50, with no money accruing.
- There are now NO restrictions on what the student can choose, with all items being deducted from the daily limit
- A daily ‘Meal Deal’ will be introduced, which will be covered by the £2.50 allowance and gives the student a balanced choice as follows:
- Choice from either Hot Counter & Side, Pre Packed Sandwich, Regular Panini or Pasta Pot
- Drink - Water (330ml), Milk (250ml) or Fruice (200ml)
- A Homemade Biscuit or Jelly
Any variations from the above and items will be charged individually
- We would encourage the students to make a balanced choice. However, should they choose a non-healthy option, for example 3 Muffins & a drink, we would highlight this to you for your consideration.
Themed Days
The themed days will still occur throughout the year. These are usually priced at approximately £3.65. If a student wishes to avail of this option, a £1.15 supplement would be required on the free school meal account to obtain this.
This still represents great value and is a fun day for all the students. These days have been warmly received and supported by the students!
I hope you find this a better option for the students and we value your continued support!
