Trio Awarded First Place in A level Art in CCEA Celebrating Excellence Awards
Pictured at the recent CCEA Celebrating Excellence Award Ceremony in Belfast are (from left to right) CCEA Chief Executive Justin Edwards with Lumen Christi College students Christina Biamis and Aimee Melaugh. Christina and Aimee were joint top A level Art and Design students in Northern Ireland 2014. Not at the ceremony, due to examination commitments in Edinburgh, was Eimear Kearns also from Lumen Christi College who was also joint top A level Art and Design student in Northern Ireland 2014.
Their Art Teacher, John Kerr (pictured right) said he was tremendously proud of the students. ‘ To achieve an A* at this level is quite an achievement in itself, but to be awarded the top place in Northern Ireland is phenomenal and to have three students from our Art Department in this position really is fantastic!’ He added that all of the three students had been a joy to teach and he wished them well as they now undertake their university studies.
