ADMISSIONS CRITERIA FOR 2010

Parents wishing to apply for a place for their child for admission into Year 8 at Lumen Christi College in September 2010 should read carefully the Admissions Criteria.  Applications for admission to the college are completed through the Transfer Process conducted by the WELB/ESA in February 2010.

FANTASTIC RUN BY LUMEN CHRISTI COLLEGE NETBALL TEAM

Lumen Christi College’s Minor Netball team travel to Lisburn to compete in the Northern Ireland League Finals today. The team have notched up an outstanding run to date in this competition. After winning the Derry Area Finals, they played Loreto Convent Omagh in the Western Area Finals. Having beaten these local rivals, they travelled to Antrim to take on Assumption Grammar School from Ballynahinch in the quarter finals and Rathmore Grammar School, Belfast in the semi finals. Once again, they emerged triumphant. Today Thursday 25th October 2010  they may wake up with some butterflies in their tummies as they take on Monkstown Community School in their 1st ever NI Finals. Their coach Mrs Suzanne Deery, Head of PE in Lumen Christi and a former Netball International herself is delighted with the success of this young team. She commented: ‘The girls have been wonderful to work with, really dedicated to preparing for this crunch match. Win, lose or draw, they are a great credit to themselves, their families and the school.

Haiti Collection

To all Parents & Pupils: A huge Thank You for your very kind generosity in our recent collection for the Haiti people. An outstanding £5300 was raised by all at Lumen Christi College – Well Done!!!!

CITY GATES CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

City Gates Chess Championship Sponsored by CITY CABS at Lumen Christi College Derry Saturday the 24th April 2010. This event begins at 09.45am and a free lunch will be provided to all entries. To enter each child must be in Secondary or Primary School, entry fee £10 per child and this must be paid with their entry form (phone entry’s not accepted); CLOSING DATE for entries is the 17th April.
