Seagate comes to Lumen Christi College

Mr Gerry Kindlon, Director from Seagate came to speak to students studying GCE Professional Business Services. He give them an insight into how organisations deal with human resource issues and how the economy is changing. The students enjoyed the informative, stimulating and motivating speech delivered by Mr Kindlon.

Shoe Box Appeal

Congratulations to Lumen Christi students who collected hundreds of shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

Pumpkin Competition

Key Stage 3 students had fun transforming ordinary pumpkins into creative pieces of Ar. Their masterpieces included animals, burgers, cartoon characters, princess carriages, snowmen, clowns, monsters and much more. They incorporated a wide range of materials, techniques and resources such as papers, paint, cardboard, fabrics, food, carving and paper mache.

Congratulations to Ruairi McNally 12C who won 1st place in the Derry Chamber of Commerce

Congratulations to Ruairi McNally 12C who won 1st place in the Derry Chamber of Commerce, Voices of the Future, public speaking competition on Thursday 16th November. The standard was extremely high but Ruairi impressed the judges with his speech, “Donald Trump is better than Barack Obama because he is the first of his kind”. Discuss. We are very proud of him!

History Department facilitated a visit from Holocaust survivor Dr Martin Stern

On Tuesday, 24th October the History Department facilitated a visit from Holocaust survivor Dr Martin Stern. Dr Stern spoke to the Year 11, 12, 13 and 14 History students and gave a fascinating insight into his life and experience in a Nazi concentration camp. It was a fantastic experience for all the students and staff of the College.
