Ashbourne Shield Exam

Dr Ó Tiarnaigh visited the school to put representatives from Y11, 12, AS and A2 through their Gaeilge paces for the Sciath Mhic Giolla Bhríde (Ashbourne Shield) competition held on Wed 1st May. For almost 80 years, the Ashbourne Shield has been a much coveted award presented to the best school in the North with the most exemplary standard of spoken Irish. The victorious school will receive 4 half scholarships for students to attend Comhaltas Uladh summer colleges in the Donegal Gaeltacht.
The winner will be announced at the end of this month. Go n-éirí go geal linn!

Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lough Derg
The annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lough Derg will take place from the 21st – 23rd June. The weekend is for all pilgrims aged 16 and over.

Young Enterprise Company Programme
Year 13 Students participated in the Young Enterprise Company Programme and participated in the YE exam in conjunction with the Ulster University. Kate was awarded the highest scored paper and received a trophy.
